All Systems Go - Everything Going Well is a Bad Thing, Right?

All Systems Go's new single, "Everything Going Well is a Bad Thing, Right?", released on January 2nd, is the perfect prelude for their upcoming EP "Finding Closure" (out February 19th).

EGWIABT,R? is a raw and emotional exploration of a relationship that was progressing but abruptly ends, leaving behind a mix of confusing feelings.

The song kicks off with a quiet and subtle opening verse, as the lyrics recount a late-night exchange: “'Remember me when you're famous,' she said with a dreamy look in her eye / at 4:00 AM with both of ours open wide" before taking a powerful, angsty turn with the line "I realise this was your way of saying goodbye" and setting us up for the next three minutes or so of pure bliss.

Guitarist and vocalist Matt Pezza explains the core message behind the song - "This song is about how poor communication leads to people being on different wavelengths. In context, the ‘remember me when you’re famous’ line is essentially a substitute phrase for communicating ‘this isn’t going to work out’. But no one knows that until it’s actually stated a couple lines later. There’s a reason why people always say “communication is key” - not just in dating but in working relationships, friendships, etc. It’s always better to be direct; mean what you say and say what you mean."

Musically, "Everything Going Well is a Bad Thing, Right?" embraces All Systems Go’s signature blend of a huge singalong chorus and catchy poppy melodies. The heavy guitar riffs bring out the raw energy of the track, while the band manages to make sure that it remains catchy and relatable. Produced by Gary Cioni (Crime in Stereo, Hot Mulligan) and mastered by Mike Kalajian (New Found Glory, Senses Fail), the track carries a polished sound that showcases the band's growth from their debut album 'Garden State Skies.'

All Systems Go’s forthcoming EP "Finding Closure" (out February 19th) promises to be one to watch at the start of 2025, With "Everything Going Well Is A Bad Thing, Right? setting the tone for what’s sure to be their best record yet.
