Sunset Sunday - Change

Sunset Sunday are back with their latest track "Change," and it's been well worth the wait. The band’s first new release in seven years. “Change” is a gut wrenching single that not only showcases their signature pop punk sound but shows how they’ve perfected it.

The journey of "Change" began back in 2019, from a Facebook voice memo that the guys knew would turn into something special. Fast forward to 2020, the song made its live debut during a three-day weekender with Bronnie and The Bottom Line, its lyrics being finalized in the early hours before their first show. After the final revisions and drums were completed, it was handed to pop punk production heavyweights Bob Cooper (Higher Power, WSTR) and Grant Berry (Stand Atlantic, Boston Manor) who provided mixing and mastering.

Lyrically, “Change” takes us through the conflicting emotions of a son’s final phone call with his dying father, how we carry the unspoken words with us after we’ve lost someone. It’s not easy to tone match such heavy, emotional lyricism musically but Sunset Sunday have done it with ease.

Driving, punchy drums and bright riffs tie everything together in an anthemic way that echoes Blink’s energy with a little nod to My Chem too.

Sunset Sunday have crafted a song that feels both nostalgic and fresh, and with its sing- along chorus and shiny production "Change" has been released at just the right time of year.

For fans old and new, "Change" is a triumphant return for Sunset Sunday, encapsulating everything that makes them great while pushing their sound forward. Keep this track on rotation and be sure to catch the boys killing ADTR tracks at Thnks Fr Th Mmrs Fstvl 2024.
